Heeeelllooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Whadddupppppp peeeepz!
So this is my FIRST REAL WEEKEND. Whew. Literally (ish). What I meant is its a legit Saturday where I just forget about crap and go ape shiznit. No homework, no nothing. Just chilling with ma homies. So there was the Indonesian Cultural Night today, and it went pretty well. We’ve got performances, and AWESOME food. Glenn, my friend in UBC (and was in my high school too until grade 10), became the MC. Haha it’s kind of funny seeing him all nervous while he was mc-ing, but great job nonetheless.
Just a thought though: we need a solid-er Indonesian community. Seriously. And yes, seriously bad grammar. More solid, there ya go.
I know a whole lot of Indonesians who just don’t give a damn and just doesn’t want to get involved you know. Then again it’s just how life is. Nothing’s perfect. Even for UBC Engineers, who I believe are really solid, they are not THAT solid if you really think about it. There are probably thousands of engineer students but only few are involved and participates in activities.
But I do have to say Indonesians’ level of ignorance is over 9000. Well most I would say. Alright I don’t want to start judging and all, but yeah, just saying. Who knows they have more important errands, or whatever.
Surprisingly both my equally super ignorant friends Nelvin and Jeffrey were there. I am impressed. Good job guys! I hope to see you guys again in other Indonesian events.
On the serious note though, I do wish that we have a more solid community, and a stronger sense of companionship and patriotism, ya know. Hopefully I can become an exec in the UBC GISAU and MAKE A DIFFERENCE! AW YEAH! Haha no I mean it. But how? That, is a good question my friend. I’ll think about it.
After that we just hung out, then Glenn asked me out to volunteer on a social kitchen? I don’t know what to call this place. It’s just a sort-of a small church and also a kitchen where homeless people can come, sing praises, and get free food. Well anyhow I was a bit reluctant at first, then the weirdest thing happened:So Glenn left first with another friend. Then I departed alone from the group of friends that I was hanging out with. On the way back, I thought “Hm, maybe I should have went with Glenn and help out” then SHAZAM Glenn was there. Yeah, God’s guidance is never too late.
It was a totally new experience to me, and it was enjoyable, I have to say. Alright honestly though, some homeless people are just annoying the balls out of me. Buuuuut they can’t be blamed anyway. I sort of pity them too, because they’re just not as lucky as my friends and I, and I am nobody to judge them, let alone mock them. They’re not homeless by their own choice, who wants to be a fricking homeless?
Well I just helped out distribute food and drinks, then helped clean up stuff. Very little number of homeless are genuinely interested in God, and so far only TWO that genuinely said ‘thank you’ in a very good manner. Some are rude explicitly, some are rude in a more subtle way. A homeless woman who seemed to be excited about singing praises and stuff suddenly just abruptly disagreed with the speaker and left. Hmm.
Anyway’s I see you’re sleeping there. Fine. Jeez. I’ll stop writing now. I guess I’ve written too much. Am I that bad at writing? :(
